We have been looking for a way to spread the joy that we have for beautiful and tasty food. We have been recently inspired by a friend who left his career so that he could serve ice cream in a small shop (Scott & Ellie's Ice Cream in Salem--Look them up...it's worth it). He wanted to put himself into a situation where he could serve happy people, and people are always happy eating ice cream!

Hoppin' Dots is the culmination of a dream that has been "baking" for many years, and now it's our turn to serve happy people...Cupcakes, Milkshakes and Bubble Tea...oh my!

Our Business

We want to meet you out and about the Roanoke Valley and feed you some delicious food. So, we have built a state of the art fully equipped mobile kitchen, and will be bringing it to many major events in the valley!

What's different about us? We were tired of going to festivals and fairs and seeing the same old fried dough in the shape of a stick or ball (or elephant ear).

We absolutely love to bake cupcakes, but after eating them all ourselves for a while, we've decided to share. Our mission is to be deliciously different, so you won't find nachos or funnel cakes on our truck.

Kate McIntyre has over 17 years of food service and catering management experience, and now uses it every day to create exciting, fun and delicious food. She is the "Cupcake Fairy".

Tim McIntyre is a wanna-be Pastry Chef who has creative flair. Some of his more preposterous ideas actually have turned out to be pretty good.  Tim is the "Milkshake Maestro".

Janet Doyle  and  Kate became friends while working together at Springtree Health & Rehab. Janet liked the "vision" of cupcakes for all, and has offered her time and sweat for numerous events, earning the title: "Bubble Tea Queen". No one makes a meaner Bubble Tea than Janet.  Janet's favorite "event task" is trekking through a sea of people to find her car and make her way to some grocery store for more ice cream and milk.
